Panel Discussion – the Mount Washington Housing Market
We welcome all to attend this “end of summer” meeting. We are reaching out to realtors in the neighborhood to provide a panel discussion of the status of the market in Mount Washington, to get a feel for what is selling and what the current values are in our neighborhood. This should give us a perspective as to what is happening in our corner of Los Angeles as to why people might want to move in or move out.

Art, Vegetables, and Cans of Worms
At the May meeting of the Mount Washington Association we will hear about the dualist art of Edem Elesh, talk about ways of bringing fresh produce to our tables, and contemplate the transformative power of earthworms. For details on all of these topics, read on.
As at every MWA meeting, there’s lots going on, everyone is welcome, and the refreshments are free!

Brownie Bake-off and Mixer
Meet neighbors and new friends at our annual Brownie-Bakeoff.
Unique coffee, chocolate and chili tastes by Xocholatl.
Special Guest Margaret Garcia, well-known Northeast L.A. artist, will be showing her newest work.
A brief installation and introduction of the 2010 Association board will be followed by the Brownie Bake-Off and an opportunity for you to bring up any and all community issues for 2010 directly with your board members.

Proposed construction of a high-speed bullet train, possibly including a section of rail alongside the Northeast L.A. section of the L.A. River, will be among the topics addressed by Councilmember Ed Reyes at the Mount Washington Association's next general membership meeting at 7:30 pm on Monday, November 16 at the Jack and Denny Smith Community Center at the Mount Washington School.

John Gray, CEO of the Autry National Center, attended the meeting and spoke in response to rumors that had circulated verbally and via email.
